WhatsApp has announced a new keep-in-chat feature that will enable users to save disappearing messages.
WhatsApp the meta's popular instant messaging app has announced a new keep-in-chat feature that will enable the user to keep particular messages even after the disappearing message feature is enabled. In this article we will talk about this Keep in Chat feature so let's jump right in.
The feature is already rolled out and is available for some users that install the latest update of WhatsApp for Android, IOS, Desktop and is rolling out for more users in the coming weeks.
Thanks to the Disappearing Messages feature, conversations are automatically deleted after a set period of time. While this provides an extra layer of privacy, it can also make it difficult for users to keep track of important messages. By using the option to keep a message in the conversation, users can now choose to save specific disappearing messages for future reference.
According to WhatsApp news tracker Wabetainfo the sender of the message will get notified once the disappearing message is saved and the sender has power over the message he can unsave it and the message will be disappeared after the timer expires. The messages that have been kept from disappearing messages will be shown by a bookmark icon listed with a new section kept chat option available within chat info that will be readily available to users.
Note that, even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp for Android, this feature is not exclusive to this platform as it is also available to some users on WhatsApp for iOS and Desktop. As announced in the official blog post, the ability to keep messages from disappearing will be released globally to all users over the coming weeks.
This is all about the new Keep in Chat feature that will enable the users to keep disappearing messages. If you like this post in any way, share it with your friends and follow us on Google News for the latest updates.
