What is Google Camera (GCAM)
Google Camera, also known as GCam, is an Android camera application developed by Google. It is designed to provide a better photography experience, offering advanced features beyond the default camera app found on most Android smartphones.
GCam is known for its computational photography techniques, which use software algorithms to enhance image quality and capture impressive photos. These include HDR+ (High Dynamic Range) for balanced exposure, Night Sight for low-light photography, Portrait Mode for creating professional-looking background blur, and Super Res Zoom for high-quality digital zoom.
How To Use GCAM On Android
While Google Camera is primarily developed for Google Pixel devices, which are renowned for their exceptional camera performance, there are unofficial GCam ports available for select non-Pixel smartphones. The goal of these ports is to bring some of the features and advantages of the Google Camera app to a wider range of devices.
It's important to note that the availability and compatibility of GCam on non-Pixel devices may vary, as it relies on unofficial ports created by developers in the Android community. There are many GCam port versions available which modified by different developers such as GCAM 8.9 version developed by BSG, BigKaka, and Shamim.
Requirements To Install GCAM on Android Devices.
GCam is primarily designed for Google Pixel devices, but it is compatible with some non-Pixel smartphones as well because of the GCam ports. However, not all Android devices support GCam, so it's important to check compatibility before installation.
1. GCam requires the Camera2API to function properly. This API provides advanced camera features and controls that are necessary for GCam to work. Most modern Android devices support the Camera2 API, but some older or budget devices may not have full support.
2. Since GCam is not available on the Google Play Store, you will need to enable installation from unknown sources in your device settings.
3.GCam comes in various versions, and you need to find the one that is specifically compatible with your device model and Android version. GCam ports are created by developers for different smartphone models, so it's important to find a version that matches your device's specifications.
Check Camera2API Support On Android Device
If you want to check whether the Camera2API is enabled on your device or not, you can follow the steps given below.
1. Download the Camera2Probe app on a targeted Android device from the Play Store.
2. Open the app and check the option "Hardware Support Level" under the Camera2API section.
3. If all the signals are red then your device doesn't have camera2API enabled.
4. If all or some signals are green Camera2API is enabled.
Download Gcam 8.9 Apka Mod
As GCAM or Google Camera 8.9 is the latest version available which works almost on all Android devices, you can give it a try. Make sure you uninstall the previous version of GCAM before installing the GCAM 8.9 version as may not be installed if you have any existing version installed.
As of now, there is no config file available for this latest version of GCAM 8.9.
