We all know jio is largest telcom network provider in india with 36 percent market share. One of the reason for this is moving of subscribers from other popular networks to jio by different processes and one of them is porting. Porting is a process in which you will move to other network without changing mobile number.If you are existing Airtel user and you want to port your number to jio this post is for you,follow below simple steps to port.
How to Port Airtel to Jio
1.Open the massaging app on your phone and type massage <PORT> <space> <your 10 digit mobile number> and send it to 1900 from your airtel number which you like to port in jio.
2.Within sometime you will receive a SMS from exiting network provider that contains UPC code and its expiry date(Unique Porting Code).
3.Now go to the nearest Jio store or Jio retailer along with the Unique Porting Code(UPC).
4.Keep with you your Adhaar card or Proof of Adress (POA)/ Proof of indentity (POI), these documents are used to place MNP request(Mobile Number Portability).
Note:
- Clear all the dues of previous network provider if you are using post paid connection.
- As per the government regulations, if you are porting within same telecom circle the number will be activated within 3 working days and if you are porting to other network circle it will take 5 working days to activate.
Porting process may take upto 15 working days in Jammu and Kashmir and Assam but your service will not be erupted during this process.
