Google Might Delete Your Inactive account| Here is How to Save it

Are you aware that Google might delete your account if you are inactive for a period of 2 years? Yes, you heard right Google will delete your 2-year-old inactive account permanently from December 2023 which includes your email and all the content in Google Apps like Gmail, Youtube, Drive, Meet and Google Photos, etc. This step was taken by Google in order to maintain security. Previously the inactive policy of Google from 2020 was that all data will wipe out from the Google Apps that are inactive for 2 years but now according to the updated inactive policy Google will delete inactive accounts permanently.

In an effort to enhance user security and minimize potential risks associated with inactive accounts, Google has implemented a policy to delete accounts that have been unused for an extended period. Research conducted by Google reveals that inactive accounts are significantly more susceptible to compromise compared to active accounts. Shockingly, the analysis shows that at least 10 times fewer inactive accounts have a two-step verification setup, making them attractive targets for identity theft and potential sources of unwanted or malicious content, such as spam.

To address these security concerns and protect users from potential risks, Google has announced its decision to commence the deletion of inactive Google accounts that have remained unused for a 2 year period starting from December 2023. Google will take several measures to ensure users are well informed before deleting their accounts, including sending multiple notifications and emails to their registered email addresses and recovery email.
