Android 14 Beta 5 Rolled Out: Here are the Final Changes Before Stable Version

After the Android 14 Beta 4 Google rolled out Beta 5 for Pixel devices, as we are heading towards the final release of the stable version, this update introduces many new features and improves the user experience of Android 14. Here is the list of changes that Android 14 Beta 5 Introduced:

List of New Features of Android 14 Beta 5

Quick Settings Tiles

A noticeable and immediate alteration emerged within the quick setting tiles, particularly relating to the format of the date and day. In this fresh iteration, the month now takes precedence over the date, departing from the arrangement in the previous version. Furthermore, the elapsed time display, which was present in Beta 4, has been taken out, and a subtle adjustment in how the text harmonizes with the wallpaper color has been introduced.

Changes in Wallpapers and Styles Section

An intriguing visual amendment manifested in the "Wallpapers and Styles" segment, where the conjunction "and" was substituted with the symbol "&." This alteration resonates throughout the entire user interface. Additionally, the spelling of "color" has been modified, and the array of clock styles has been condensed from nine to eight, entailing the removal of a specific style.

Volume Slider and Setting Page

A surprising change greets users in Beta 5, as the volume slider panel is expanded significantly, setting it apart from Android Beta 4. Notably, the Settings page has also undergone a series of adjustments, that are mentioned below:

  1. Battery Section Update: The battery widget feature has been eliminated, although it remains accessible through the widget section.
  2. Display Section: A shift in terminology from "storage" to "flashlight," accompanied by a replacement of "torch" with "flashlight."
  3. Theme Section: The option for "turning on at bedtime" has been eradicated from the scheduling choices.
  4. Screen Saver Enhancement: Introduction of the new "show home control" option.
  5. Color Change: An ambiguity concerning the availability of the "boosted colors" feature on Pixel 7A was observed in Beta 4, yet it was notably absent in Beta 5.
